Swedish Doomster BELOW have to announce the departure of their guitarist Berg from the band.
“It is sad to lose a “member of the family”, but we part as friends and we respect and accept Berg’s wish to leave the band. We want to thank him for everything he has done for Below both as a musician and as a friend. We wish him best of luck in the future.”
“It saddens me to inform you all that I have decided to quit Below. Having thought about it for months it is the only way for me and my well being. And it wouldnt be fair to the rest of the band to continue in Below half-hearted. The reason is simple, I need to do something else, explore my own creativity beyond Below and doom metal. I wish the guys in the band all the best. And a huge Thank you to all of you, the fans, who have helped Below become what it is today. You are a true inspiration.”
Filling Berg‘s spot for upcoming live shows will be guitarist Jonte Bjoerkborg. Apart from being a close friend to the band (he’s even got credits on ‘Across The Dark River’) he is an excellent guitar player and has previously played with Zeb & Doc in Malison Rogue.
